Updated Blog

Hi family!
I finally got around to updating the blog a bit tonight. Aunt Kathy asked me to update the blog so that it would send e-mail notifications when a blog had been posted. Unfortunately, only ten people can be notified, so I excluded Mom and I, but added Kathy , Katie, Megan, Julie, Karen, Sue, Vanessa, Natalie, Whitney, and Ashley. I also added comment notification for Sue, Karen, and Kathy (again, it would only let me choose a limited number), which means they will get an e-mail any time a comment is made to one of the posts. The rest of us will just have to check.

Birthday thanks

Hi Everybody!

I am finally checking in and seeing I have been missing your posts. Sorry about that!

Thanks to all for making my birthday so special. What a kick to get sister and mom and dad cards this year! I am still trying to absorb it all in all its wonder.

You have introduced me to Facebook and isn't that just fun? I enjoy the chitchat and had lots of fun wishes through FB.

It is gorgeous here with the azaleas in bloom and the pink trees that i can't say, let alone spell. The leaves are falling and the new green growth is already on the trees.

Tomorrow is a stay at home day so I hope to get caught up with office and housework. I might sneak in a bit of reading too!

Kevin is off to DC to see his angels Friday. Julie is there too so he will get to see all three!!

Dora is my new best friend...

Hi family!

Sorry I have been MIA...the 2010 Census is consuming my life! When you all get your forms next week, fill them out and mail them back quickly so all this craziness will be over faster:)

The pictures above shows what I've been working on the last 2 weeks -- Dora the Explorer is an official 2010 Census partner (or Nickelodeon is!) and I just did an event with Dora at a local childcare center to unveil this PSA: http://2010.census.gov/mediacenter/spread-message/dora.php -- pretty cute, right?

Everything else is going great -- Mike is moving in to my condo in a few weeks...gulp! I'm most worried about giving up half my closet!

I'm happy to be finished with my master's too -- what a weight off my shoulders, and especially good timing with summer approaching! I can relax in the sun without feeling bad I'm not in the library!

How is everyone? Heard the trip to CA was awesome! We were all jealous we couldn't come. Did I hear talk of a trip to NYC??

Also -- yes, I promise I will join Facebook! I promise! Mom keeps telling me about all the fun I'm missing and I don't like being out of the loop. As soon as I get my head above water at work I'm all in. Can't wait....

Hi,

It sounds like you had a great time in CA! Wish we were all there!!! All is well here.

I have reworked my weekly schedule and things seem to be going well. On Mon, Wed, Fri I work on my paper. I set up a work in on the boat so I am away from distractions. Right now, I am in the stage of creating my survey that will go to a sample of school administrators. My topic is how admin handle student discipline. Then, Tues and Thurs, I go to the office and help Larry. We have been doing some renovations to the building we are in so I have been painting and laying flooring. Just trying to keep up with Martha Stewart!

It has been cold here for a south FL winter. Finally yesterday and today it was in the high 70's. Not much rain but when it rains it pours.

Larry and I watched the movie Food Inc and have been reading some about the foods that we eat (Michael Pollen has some good books out). So, we are trying to cook more and watch the things we eat. We took a curry cooking class the other week and have loved creating curry dishes. Last night was curry beef stew. The recipes include lots of spices and have turned out quite yummy! The book that we have is 660 Curries (we only have about 553 to go!).

Hello Family!

The quarter is finally ending and I will have approximately two weeks of nothing but happiness! I have one final tomorrow morning (this is the most important one) and then a take home final over the weekend and my last final is next Friday, so basically, I have the whole week off. Then the following week is Spring Break! YAY!!

Apparently, March is not a good month of me and cars. My poor car was hit by some man on the way to school last Thursday. The insurance company claims it was my fault b/c i did not look over my shoulder when I switched lanes, but I was carefully watching the other lane for about 2 minutes before I even decided to switch lanes, thus me thinking it's not my fault for some man crashing into the side of my car. His car, of course, was perfectly fine. Right now my car is getting fixed and I miss her dearly. I have a rental car and with this car I have to lock it from the inside instead of using the remote entry, so today I accidently locked my keys in the car because they happened to fall off my keychain and I didn't realize since I don't use them to lock the car. Luckily, I have them now.

I'm hoping the next few weeks will be better car-wise with me. I am just happy to be ending the quarter and most likely passing all of my classes.
